(Undated) -- Washington is keeping a close eye on a wave of violence washing across Iraq's Anbar province. State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf on Saturday condemned the bloodshed, blasting al-Qaeda-linked fighters for what she called "their barbarism against civilians of Ramadi and Fallujah and against Iraqi Security Forces." Her comments came just one day after fighting in those two towns claimed the lives of more than 100 people. Harf went on to say that the Obama administration remains in close contact with both political and Iraqi tribal leaders as they work to rid the region of terrorist groups.
