(New York, NY) -- New York Senator Chuck Schumer wants the Food and Drug Administration to ban the use of a potentially cancer-causing chemical in foods. Schumer says many fast food chains, restaurants and groceries use the chemical to bleach bread and make it "bouncier." But it's also used to make yoga mats and shoe soles. Subway announced it would stop adding the chemical to its bread last week after an online petition put the sandwich chain at the center of controversy.
